Why do you think Germany still has the stigma from WW1 and WW2 still attached to it??

Why do you think Germany still has the stigma from WW1 and WW2 still attached to it??
I've read that Germany is getting really annoyed because Europe and the US still think of it as the enemy from the World Wars and nothing else. Why do you think people still only really think of it as the enemy when it really is an up and coming country - Claudia Schiffer for example. Your view?

I don't know people who think that. Maybe the older generation that was alive during the war might be 'suspicious' or something but anybody under 40 doesn't think that way. Germany is one of the best democracy's in Europe.

Because most people have never been to Germany and don't know any germans. Germany is an enlightened, economically strong country. It's also the country where you're least likely to find people with extreme right sympathies. They have learnt their lesson.

That surprises me. They've done rather well for themselves. I think they get a lot of trade with the rest of Europe and America too. What's to moan about? I don't have a problem with them. I'm not about to forget that I lost relatives in needless wars either though.

Cause the people who live there are German.

Because people would rather keep believing an old stigma than open their mind to new truths. It's the same reason old wives tales and urban legends continue being believed.

Some people still dislike the French who we made peace with over a century ago! Can only say the German people cost us a lot of suffering and death in WWll because they let a nutter take charge. But I agree, we get on well with them now.

Well a lot of countries remember WW1 and WW2 as being the last really great wars. As an American its cool to talk about how we really kicked the their butts in WW2 and all that but, I dont think theres any real stigma. Just look at all the volkswagons and audis Americans drive. If there was any stigma against Germany we wouldn't buy products from them. I like what their doing with the solar panels. Its a great country for sure.
