In the past year, pop-star Chapelle Roan has risen to popularity, releasing hit after hit. Her surge of fame was a quick one, that even the singer herself couldn’t believe it.
During her Midwest Princess tour, she told the crowd as she held back tears “I just want to be honest with the crowd, I just feel a little off today,”. She continued “I think my career is just kind of going really fast and it’s really hard to keep up. I’m just being honest … I’m having a hard time today.”
“I’m sorry … I’m not trying to give you, like, a lesser show, it’s just that there’s a lot going on,” she said. “Thank you for understanding. This is all I’ve ever wanted – it’s just heavy sometimes.” Despite all the happiness she has for her fans and all the success she’s had recently, it would take time to adjust to her new level of fame.
Chapelle Roan has been in the music industry for quite a while now. At first, she did youtube covers until soon after she started writing songs and got signed into a record label. She released an EP in 2017 called “school nights”, then released the song “Pink Pony Club”. It became popular but didn’t generate much profit, so she was soon dropped by her label.
She struggled for a period of time, as she had to find a job while covid-19 was still a huge threat. In 2022, she met songwriter and producer Dan Nigro, and worked on releasing a couple songs. She released “Casual” which became a hit, and opened for Olivia Rodrigo on her tour. Her instant rise to fame happened once she released “Good Luck, Babe!”, the song that locked her in for stardom.
