Inside out 2 surpasses Dune Part 2 as the biggest movie of 2024, after beating the latter’s sales on opening day.
Dune 2 debuted with 82.5 million on February 28, 2024. It’s an impressive amount, but Pixar beat it almost easily with the inside out sequel scoring 155 million in its first weekend release, dominating the box office.
Not only is it the highest grossing film of the year, but it also beat Frozen 2 (which debuted with 135 million) as the biggest animated opening ever.
Inside out 2 features Riley as a teenager, while she goes through puberty and gains new emotions. This became a hit among not only kids, but teens since they may find the protagonist’s situation relatable. Riley navigates life under pressure coming from different factors, so if you’re around her age, the film may hit close to home.
It’s a widely successful film, and has definitely brought “Joy” to all.
