The 97th Academy Awards took place on the 2nd of March, and let’s just say this year’s bunch of winners had kept the internet in discussion for the past couple of days. The ‘Oscars’ remains trending on social media as fans share their opinions, clips, and memes from the ceremony.
Some moments currently viral are of an actor and his not-so-demure and questionable behaviour. Who could this person be? Well, it’s none other than Adrien Brody.
On the surface of his current plane of disapproval, viewers criticized him for his win, deeming him undeserving after the use of AI in his winning performance. In the movie “The Brutalist”, Brody speaks Hungarian, however it was revealed that a software was used to edit his voice in order to sound more authentic and accurate.
He had also sparked mixed reactions when he delivered a speech reaching a whopping 5 minutes and 40 seconds, setting the record for the longest one in history. His extension of time on stage triggered insults calling him arrogant and self-important, with others commenting that his words didn’t contain much substance.
Another one of his viral clips was of him throwing a piece of gum to his girlfriend before coming up to accept his award. Fans found him ill-mannered and lacking class, as the act was indeed “gross”. To make matters worse, he had also given a long kiss to actress Halle Berry right in front of the woman he was dating, solidifying his reputation as rude and disrespectful.
Adrien Brody now has two Oscars, but let’s just say he also has a long line of people that dislike him right behind. As ceremonies usually go, those going home with trophies don’t always align with the public’s opinion, but regardless, congratulations to the winners of the night!
